Emerging Trends in Instructional Technology and Simulations
Course description: "Course involves the exploration of games and simulations. This includes the evaluation, design, and infusion of games and simulations in instructional settings. Students will create a process for using multimedia and visual basic applications for developing instructional materials, presentations, and games." IDT5030 at Trevecca Nazarene University
Instructor: Dr. LaMetrius Daniels
Reflection: In this course, I was able to utilize the tools and practices of game development to design a game concept. This process included devising a game prototype, testing and iterating on my ideas and navigating licensing, marketing, and other business considerations. Subsequent iterations involved demonstrating methods and techniques of simulation and learning how it is applied in various fields. Lastly, the game development method incorporated applying the basic principles underlying the simulation in instructional design.
