Universal Design for Learning

Course description: "In this course, students will practice applying the Universal Design for Learning (UDL) framework to instructional design, educational technology, and assessment decisions. Based on brain-based research, the UDL framework allows instructors and designers leverage understanding of the various ways students engage with course materials in order to support deeper and more effective learning."
IDT4140 at The University of Denver

Instructor:  Professor Amanda Hardman

Reflection:  At the end of this course, students will be able to:
  • Describe the principles and theory behind the Universal Design for Learning (UDL) framework.
  • Analyze the impact of UDL on diverse learner populations.
  • Apply UDL to create effective learning activities, assessment tools, and course materials.
  • Implement UDL strategies to address learning design challenges.
