Interactive and Digital Tools for Instructional Design
Course description: "Course focuses on the design and development of various forms of interactive instructional media to support learning. This course will provide experiences in investigating, designing, developing and integrating a variety of interactive instructional media and mobile devices." IDT5130 at Trevecca Nazarene University
Instructor: Dr. Nicole Arrighi
Reflection: This engaging and comprehensive course explored all aspects of using interactive digital tools for instructional design. First, I examined changes in the digital age by evaluating learning shifts and the influence of technology usage in the professional workplace. Next, I applied digital tools in the area of focused instruction by addressing a workplace issue. Then, I developed a comprehensive solution overviewed in a Tell'em in 10 active strategy presentation. A five-mission gamification project was devised by assuming the role of a training manager to address the engagement amongst new hires to your company.
In the second part of IDT 5130, I created a self-paced Articulate Rise 360 course, which included interactive content using animations, videos, and simulations for instructional use in a training module. A thorough assessment of two learning programs was performed using a three-tiered assessment plan. Afterward, a competency showcase was designed, which aligned course experiences to the ISTE-Coaches seven main standards. Dr. Arrighi's guidance proved indispensable as she shed light on course materials, assignments, and practical projects. Utilizing this course in my professional journey, Dr. Arrighi's profound knowledge of instructional design becomes an invaluable asset for what lies ahead.
